Non-profits are a unique area. They can be challenging to set up. The tax status and how the companies are operating are often critical. Then there’s other management issues, corporate governance, making sure that assets are being used for the charitable purpose, and having record keeping and structuring in place. While many of the issues of a non-profit look similar to those of a for-profit company, there’s usually an additional layer of regulation, accounting, and other issues.

I can work with clients to make sure that their non-profits are being set up correctly, being run for the future, and that there are protections being offered to the officers and directors from lawsuits and other risks, which unfortunately still exist in the non-profit world.
