NEGOTIATIONS

Often, I’m called upon to negotiate situations, whether it be changes to contracts, ownership disputes, strategic transactions, or other things involving the company. You want a go-to person on your side to make sure that you’re protecting yourself and that you’re getting all the value you can claim. You certainly don’t want negotiations which are going to turn into adversarial processes where everybody’s going to be at a deadlock. You want somebody that cares about getting to a solution and making sure that your business continues to move forward with this added piece.

I adhere to the philosophy that negotiations can be a win-win for everyone. Everybody can walk away with something of greater value for themselves and give up something of lesser value. I walk in with the idea that negotiations can be successful for everyone, as I look out for our clients’ interest and negotiate to make sure that they get what they want and need while understanding the benefits and risks involved. I help the clients reframe and think about what the other person needs so that I can add additional benefits of low cost to our client to help get the deal done.

You really want somebody on your side in negotiations. It’s so helpful to have a third party to handle discussions between law firms, as negotiations progress. I enjoy working with our clients and helping them get to the outcomes they need in the negotiation process.
