BRINGING IN AN EXECUTIVE
Sometimes as part of the growth of your business, you need to bring in an executive. You want to bring in somebody with outside expertise and knowledge to run your business, but often this comes with additional challenges. That executive will often want part ownership of the company, or they’ll want to negotiate a package to make sure that they have a long-term role with the company. They may leave their current position to take a chance of becoming part of your company, and they will want to be taken care of if you decide to go separate directions.
I work with businesses and business owners on bringing in executives and making sure that they’re brought in a thoughtful manner to align everybody’s economic interest, to make sure everybody’s moving in the right direction, and to make sure I plan with my clients for the “what if” scenarios in case the executive leaves. I want to make sure that my clients avoid have situations where they have minority owners who are not satisfied and part of the long-term business. I can help build systems and processes in the documentation to make sure that the company can continue to run effectively while bringing in the executive, while the executive is there, and in the event the executive exits the business.
